If you need access to an on-call HR and talent expert, Advisory Services is the solution for you. Sarah and her team assist you in navigating complex employee challenges, provide strategic advice, and serve as a thought partner. 

Monthly Retainer ($500/month)

Diagnostic Add-On ($1,500)


Advisory Services are for those complex HR issues where you need a thought partner, advice, and HR expertise. This may be simple one-off questions like “Our state offers paid parental leave benefits and we want to offer additional paid leave – how would our policy interact with state law?” Or it might be guidance on preparing a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) or supporting you through an HR investigation. Or it could be helping you think through a tough personnel decision when the answer isn’t clear (i.e. “Should we terminate this person because they did X, Y, Z?”).

While the unlimited phone and email access is to react to issues that arise, the monthly check-ins are to proactively plan. Whether we meet and how we spend this time is up to you! These check-ins are tailored to fit the specific needs of each client and will depend largely on the issues your organization faces. For example, we might problem-solve a specific issue, review data, project plan a large HR change management initiative, or scope out talking points for an important employee meeting. 

Yep! Of course we’ll set some parameters (no, we won’t be checking in at 9 p.m.), but you’ll be able to access me easily to support with those HR emergencies. 

This package is best suited for:

          • Small organizations who don’t have a dedicated HR leader and need on-demand support
          • HR leaders who want a thought partner and “second pair of eyes” in dealing with sensitive employee issues
          • Newer HR leaders who want guidance through tricky issues and support with proactive planning

These packages don’t include any deliverables outside of customizable templates you can use. If in our work together, we reach a point where there is additional support that’s needed, we can always consider adding on a Project Engagement or switching to the Fractional Support service. Additionally, this is not legal representation. I hold SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications, but am not a lawyer and cannot provide legal counsel. 

This includes completing a policy audit, analyzing your current state, and providing recommendations to address organizational and HR risks. This add-on is highly encouraged for all clients, but particularly for any client that has not done a recent policy audit.
